Middle Tennessee Fashion Week

The major New York, London, Milan, Paris fashion weeks (month really) are all done and over, but that doesn't mean fashion stops there. My really good friends at MTSU are putting together MT fashion week at the university. Sure it's not with the big leagues, but Tennessee's trying! It's a student run sort of thing and I'm so proud that these girls put this sort of production on.

If you're in the Nashville surrounding area, please go and support. Most of the events are free! Starting this Saturday April 11, 2015 at the LRC 221, (doors open) at 5pm on MTSU's campus with tickets only $10. Here's a quick run down on what's happening next week:

P.S. I'll be in town at these things and will actually be selling Enamour Entirety at the trunk show.

TXMD | Dear McQueen : Walking Into Wonderland

The last day of MT Fashion Week has finally come. I am glad to be a part of such a fun experience leading up to now! The last show of the week was a contribution to the one and only, Alexander McQueen. Every piece was inspired by him and everything was way too awesome. It was so fun and I cannot wait till next year to do it again!
She designed the dress I am wearing!
My way too awesome professor who put the show together. Dr. Kwon!

Middle Tennessee Fashion Week | MTSU

About a month ago, I had a photoshoot with an organization I'm in called, FaDS. Which stands for Fashion and Design Students. It was a shoot to promote Middle Tennessee Fashion Week at MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University (uni that I am currently attending)). It was a fun shoot! They're based on Fashion's Night Out campaign (hence the black and white!).

So if you're in the Nashville/Murfreesboro area, come out to the events. You'll see me in them or in the crowd!

I don't know why, but the weather has been really cold. Last night, I even had to bring out my winter coat and it's suppose to be spring! The rest of the week isn't looking too good either.
The last fashion show event for fashion week is Thursday! It's going by really fast.
Also, I put up a new ring in my Etsy shop! ^_^

By the way, my mommy took these Lookbook/blog pictures! I asked my sister and she groaned. So my mom was like, I want to take them! ^_^ Haha.

TXMD Fashion Show "Bon Voyage"

I did not expect the show to be that awesome, but oh, it was more than that. Surprisingly, I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be. In all of the six hours of chaos and madness backstage, it was fun! I wish I could of saw the show from the audience point of view! All of the committees, coordinators, and designers did an absolute amazing job. Seriously.
I feel that MTSU's fashion week has ended due to the fact that the anticipated fashion show arrived and was a complete success.
Also, the designer I walked for, Katie, gave me and the other three models Starbucks gift cards for walking for her. I thought that was way too sweet of her to. Ever since I switched my major to fashion merchandising, everyone I've ever met in this field are super friendly. I really like the change.
(I do not own this picture)
(My cousin, Minnie, who was also in the show too! ^_^)

Fashion Week: Day Two

It was the ECOture show. Basically items that are reused from previous garments and such to make new ones! All the pieces were awesome. I was getting compliments on the outfit and saying 'thanks' as if it were mine. Ha! But of course, I told them it wasn't. ^_^ And to go along with the theme, walking barefoot down the runway + face paint!
Today's outfit; my reconstructed waterfall skirt!:

(I look short here ): )
(These were all decorated along the runway! They're flowers made out of bottles!)
Here is the fashion art show from last night (they called it 'fart' show; if I didn't like fashion so much, it'll make me not want to go because no one knew what 'fart' was short for).It was interesting. Very different from traditional shows that's for sure. There were models covered in body paint, portraying as a piece of art on a wall. Then there were the models who acted as mannequins wearing pieces of abstract printed garments (lots of polka dots).
(Piet Mondrian's "Composition with Red, Yellow, Blue, and Black"!)
(P.S. Sorry for the icky iPhone pictures! In the jist of only being home for 30 minutes to going to dress rehearsal to class to fitting and to other things, I didn't bring my DSLR.)

  • DIY gold spiked collar button up
  • Recontructed red waterfall skirt
  • Deena & Ozzy cutout booties: $10
